Sugar Hollow Retreat in Butler, Tennessee was the perfect location to get married for these United States Marines who fell in love. Amber and Chris were able to share this location and bring in their family from all over the country to celebrate their love. You can watch the video below to see just how in love they truly are.

AMBER & CHRIS

At the very beginning we knew Amber and Chris were going to be amazing clients. From our initial Facetime with them we could see how much they loved each other. Have you ever been around people that you just like being around? That’s them. You can almost see the love they have for each other radiating from them every time they’re around each other.

WEDDING DAY AT SUGAR HOLLOW RETREAT

This was the first wedding we had ever captured at Sugar Hollow Retreat, but we definitely hope it is not our last! Nestled in the beautiful heart of the Smoky Mountains, this venue is a perfect blend of nature and beauty. However, specifically for Amber and Chris’ wedding, there was an issue… it was pouring the rain! Specifically, it wasn’t just your typical sprinkle, it was an actual downpour.

Regardless, Amber and Chris remained calm throughout the day. After all, they were just excited to finally be married! The only problem is that it was an outdoor ceremony. This makes it a little more difficult to set up 3 video cameras in a downpour! Haha. I’ll share more on that later!

FIRST LOOK

Meanwhile, the excitement had built up. As a result, you could feel it all throughout the resort all morning long. Amber and Chris were now ready. They were about to see each other on their wedding day for the first time during their first look. Prior to this first look, both Amber and Chris had shared with us how excited they were just to see each other. They both shed tears in excitement, and we may have fought some back as well.

The first look was to take place under the porch on the front of the reception area due to the rain. Chris was now full of anticipation as Amber walked behind him ready to meet him face to face for the first time today. She tapped him on the shoulder, and as expected, they both were overcome with emotion. We stepped back and allowed them to have their moment. The time had finally come.

CEREMONY & RECEPTION

Now that Amber and Chris had seen each other, there was only one thing left to do! It was time to get them married! But if you’re following along, you’ll know that the rain hadn’t stopped yet! But, here at Radiant Mountain Media, we both know that the power of prayer works. Consequently, this means that throughout the whole day we had been praying that the rain would stop.

And like God does, He answered our prayers! Just a mere 15 minutes or so before the ceremony was to take place, the rain stopped! Also like God does (Romans 8:28), He took something that we thought would be a problem for the ease of the wedding day, and made it beautiful. The rain that was sort of scary in the beginning made for BEAUTIFUL pictures and video from the fog coming from the mountains. This is something that not every bride and groom experiences on a normal wedding day.

Chris awaited Amber at the beautiful patio overlooking the mountain as Amber walked down to him. This was it. From the time they had fell in love in the Marines, to now, this is what they were striving towards. The night went on with dancing, amazing food, and of course all the love from Amber and Chris’ family. After all this time, they were now finally Mr. and Mrs. Shkreli.

Amber and Chris, we can’t thank you all enough for choosing us to capture your wedding day! You all made our jobs so easy, and remind us of the exact reason we love what we do so much. You’re a constant reminder to us to show love to one another, no matter what. We are also so thankful for your service to this country. Know that we don’t take that lightly. There’s a reason you all are called “The Few and the Proud”. So again, thank you. We look forward to seeing you all grow in your marriage, and for all God has in store for you both!
